Reiki Therapy

What is Reiki? Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is an ancient Japanese hands on healing therapy known as The Usui system of Natural Healing. It was developed in the early 1900’s by Dr. Mikao Usui, a Buddist Monk and healer.  The word Reiki has two meanings.Rei which means God’s wisdom or Higher Power, and Ki which means the energy known to flow through all living beings, together means Universal Life Force Energy. This energy is considered to be a spiritually guided life force energy that is a simple, natural, safe and non invasive method of healing that everyone can use. Reiki is practiced in many parts of the world, and is often used as a complement to western medical treatment.

What Reiki Does: Reiki works by allowing positive energy to flow into your body on many levels. This positive energy works to remove blockages that may exist in the major energy centers, as well as work on mental thoughts, beliefs and emotional patterns that block the natural flow of energy. Reiki strengthens the body’s life force energies, thus restoring balance and harmony to the entire energy system.

How Reiki Works: You relax, fully clothed, on a massage table. With light hand placements along major energy centers on the body, the healing practitioner channels the Reiki energy through the Rhands onto you or above you. A treatment can last an hour or longer depending on the treatment required. There is no pressure on the body making it ideal for treating all ages and conditions. The energy flows wherever it is required (spiritually guided) and can normally be felt as a warm sensation or tingling in the body. Receiving Reiki is a very relaxing and soothing experience.  Benefits of a treatment can include: stress reduction, deep relaxation, pain relief, improved mental clarity and enhanced creativity.
